Astro revolutionized the television landscape in Malaysia

After Mega TV collapsed. Next generation pay television service in Malaysia was Astro. It was launched on June 1, 1996, by Astro All Asia Networks plc, now known as Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad. Astro introduced a subscription-based satellite television service, offering a wide range of channels and content to Malaysian viewers for a monthly fee.

Astro's introduction revolutionized the television landscape in Malaysia, providing access to a diverse array of local and international programming, including movies, sports, news, and entertainment channels. Over the years, Astro has expanded its offerings, introducing new services such as high-definition (HD) channels, video-on-demand (VOD), and interactive features to enhance the viewing experience for its subscribers.
